EHF creates awareness about the effects of a degraded ecology on the health and well being of resident populations.

The natural environment and public health are deeply connected at many levels

India supports 17.71 percent of the world's population, but has only 2.4 percent of the world's land area. To support such a large population we have indulged in an unsustainable exploitation of our natural resources.

Environmental degradation

Over the years this exploitation has led to environmental degradation with exhausted topsoil, water shortages, erratic rainfall, low agricultural output, disrupted families and societies and finally, migration.

A natural fallout of populations having little water and a low income is hunger, malnutrition, chronic diseases and epidemics.

Environment & Health Foundation (India) was set up to counter the effects of a degraded ecology on marginalised communities, we work to revive damaged ecologies and safeguard the public health in such affected areas.
