About EHF

Environment and Health Foundation [India] was founded in February of 1998.

It was registered at Mysore as a Trust and the operations were based in Bangalore. Recently the office of EHF was shifted to Ponnampet in Kodagu district of Karnataka.

EHF was set up to: Create awareness about the impact of a weakening ecology on the Indian population, and to counter the effects of a degraded ecology on the health and well being of resident populations while focusing on marginalised groups.

Col CP Muthanna (Retd), - Founder and Hon Secretary of the EHF

The driving force behind EHF is Col CP Muthanna (Retd), he is the Founder and Hon Secretary of the EHF.

Col CP Muthanna was the President of Coorg Wildlife Society, which is among the most reputed conservation organisations in India today. He was President for two terms - from 2003 to 2009, and once again from 2012 till November 2018. 

Human-elephant conflict

As the President of the Coorg Wildlife Society he has been actively involved in various issues pertaining to conservation and protection of wildlife habitat in Coorg, as well as the mitigation of human-elephant conflict.

In 2005 the Coorg Wildlife Society was awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Parisara Prashusti by the Karnataka State Government.  

In 2006 he was awarded the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Award for his work in the field of Environment by the Government of Karnataka.
